PRIVATE PILOT

If recreational activities are what you are looking for, helicopters are versatile enough to get you just about anywhere you want to go. That versatility does come with some responsibilities! To safely operate a helicopter to and from off-airport locations requires additional skills, a strong commitment to understanding your aircraft performance and mainly to have been properly trained in Aeronautical Decision Making (ADM). This training MUST be taught from the start on your first lesson. Understanding threats and how to manage them before and during the flight are the key elements to make you a safe and confident pilot.

If becoming a professional helicopter pilot is your goal but your schedule demands you undergo your training by steps, let us help you acquire the fundamentals that will guide you through the rest of your training.

If you already hold an airplane certificate, our FAA approved 141 add-on courses will save you time and money.

PRIVATE PILOT 

Pre-requisites:

  • Be at least 17 years of age

  • Be able to read, speak, write and understand English

Training:

  • Appropriate ground knowledge

  • 40 hours of flight time to include:

    • 30 hours Dual

    • 10 hours Solo

Course length:

  • 3 to 4 months

Aircraft:

141 PRIVATE ADD-ON

Pre-requisites:

  • Hold at least a FAA private airplane certificate

  • Hold at least a class 3 FAA medical

Training:

  • Ground school: 24 hrs

  • Dual: 22 hrs

  • Solo: None

Course length:

  • 2 months
