Airplane to Helicopter

If you already hold an FAA airplane certificate, we provide many options to add on the rotorcraft helicopter category and class. Our Private, Commercial and instrument Add-on courses are 141 FAA approved, saving you time and money.

For CFI and CFII Add-On, the training is usually conducted under part 61 where we can fully personalize a training plan based on your experience level and currency.

141 PRIVATE ADD-ON

Pre-requisites:

  • Hold at least a FAA private airplane certificate

  • Hold at least a class 3 FAA medical

Training:

  • Ground school: 24 hrs

  • Dual: 22 hrs

  • Solo: None

Course length:

  • 2 months

Aircraft:

141 INSTRUMENT ADD-ON

Pre-requisites:

  • Hold at least a FAA private airplane certificate with instrument rating

  • Hold a Rotorcraft Helicopter rating

  • Hold at least a class 3 FAA medical

Training:

  • Ground school: 20 hrs

  • Dual: 12 hrs

  • Sim: 5 hrs

Course length:

  • 2.5 months

Aircraft:

141 COMMERCIAL ADD-ON

  • Hold at least a FAA commercial airplane certificate

  • Hold at least a class 2 FAA medical

Training:

  • Ground school: 30 hrs

  • Dual: 32.1 hrs

  • Solo: None

  • Sim: 2 hrs
